Hello my name is Christina James I’m a registered Mental Health Nurse I have worked in various setting around the West Midlands, dementia, acute, children just to name a few . I am bringing you today Mental Health First Aid It is the same as First aid however if someone is experiencing Depression, anxiety, stress bereavement and or separation they would have a point of access to go for help to their Mental health first aider I would be able to train an employee or an individual to become a Mental Health First Aider We need to start talking about Mental health as 1-4 of us will experience a mental health issue throughout our life time.

1-6 children in this country are self –harming this is the highest in Europe 1-3 children with experience depression and anxiety so let’s get trained start talking about mental health issues to make a better pathway for our future us . It will teach individuals how to recognise signs, symptoms of people experiencing mental health problems and provide help, support on the basis of first aid effectively.
